Chasing Wonder

Wonderkind is a visual concept and production studio lead by director/photographer Brian MacDonald.  We have a passion for revealing ideas through the art of wonder, story and the imagination.   We have both extensive experience and a love for narrative shorts, advertising, corporate storytelling, non-profit, documentary film and social advocacy.  This is accomplished through a variety of visual mediums including digital film and video production, animation, and still photography.  We are located in the Chicagoland area.

A sense of wonder sits at the heart of everything we do.  We believe that an appreciation for the wonder-filled is an often ignored aspect of visual storytelling and one, when appropriately understood, transforms the way people see the world.  We both love and recognize its multi-dimensions – that it shows up via life’s beauty, the human story, our questions, and the extraordinary.  And while we would be hesitant to claim that anyone can set out to produce wonder, we believe that a proper understanding of its mysterious nature can certainly encourage it.  This is our starting point.

We are storytellers.  We understand that narrative communication is not only as old as life itself, but is an integral part of what it means to be human.  Unfortunately, many visual communicators have forgotten this.  Our team has not only studied the art of storytelling, but has integrated our understanding in each and every project we take on.
